I’m reading a book now called JFK: Conservative, and it got me to thinking about the correlations between JFK and President Trump. Here’s what I’ve come up with: 1. Both outsiders who inherited a swamp, and in the end, the swamp took them out. 2. Both were second sons of successful and domineering fathers. Both grew up in wealth and privilege, though outside the highest levels of social status. Both were rebellious in school, reckless and cavalier in relations with women and eventual inheritors of family dreams for wider acceptance.3. As young men, they both took on challenging endeavors, but were hounded by critics who said they were more interested in publicity than in genuine accomplishment. They were unlikely presidential candidates who entered the White House after closely fought campaigns against controversial opponents who had been on the national political scene far longer. Finally: Both were assassinated.... On 11/22/63, JFK was mortally assassinated by forces who needed him removed to further THEIR AGENDA. On 1/5/2021, Trump was assassinated politically by forces who needed him removed to further THEIR AGENDA. And yes, I have that portrait of the two of them hanging up in my office :)
Oh, and both had fantastic tans...
